The southern part of Fukien Province is called Minnan. Minnan Tiles were inspired by European tilework that was introduced into the Chinese culture around 1880. Minnan patterns mainly use either geometric or floral references. The process of making the tiles was time-consuming, resulting in great expense. Tiles were precious because they only appeared from 1922 to 1976, less than six decades after the Great Cultural Revolution.

Reflourish aimed to collect different precious tile patterns, representing historical stories and crafting processes. We use the broken part from tiles and redesign them into new jewelry. Then jewelry is sold and money is donated to protect the Minnan tiles.
